Tajima DST file format, in practical terms

The DST format combines a fixed header with a sequence of three-byte stitch records.

Header and records

The first 512 bytes contain fields such as LA, ST, CO, and the X/Y extents. After the header, the file contains three-byte records terminated by an End command.

Units and size

Record deltas and header extents use 0.1 mm raw units. For the displayed design size, decoded stitch bounds are authoritative; header dimensions are retained as diagnostics because exporters can write inconsistent envelopes.

What the viewer does

The local parser classifies normal stitches, jumps, color changes, and End. The result page keeps those categories separate so the primary count does not silently include control records.
