DST guide
DST colors and color changes explained
A DST file can describe color-change boundaries without reliably describing real thread colors.
What Color Stops means
Color Stops is the number of decoded color-change commands in the DST stream. It helps show how the design is segmented for production review.
Why thread names are not shown
DST files do not reliably carry real thread color names or thread numbers. The viewer therefore uses a deterministic display palette to separate blocks visually. Those colors are not the thread colors for a sewout.
Review the path
Open the viewer to inspect color-stop boundaries alongside the decoded stitch path. For commercially important work, verify thread selection and machine instructions in your production workflow.
