How to check the stitch count in a DST file

Use the decoded stitch path to inspect the count before you quote or prepare a design.

What StitchQuote counts

The primary Stitch Count is the number of normal stitch records decoded from the DST command stream. Jump records, color changes, and the end command are tracked separately.

Why the header count can differ

The ST field in a DST header is a declared record count and is diagnostic information. Exporters can write values that do not match the decoded normal stitch count, so the parsed stitch path is the useful value for inspection.

Check it locally

Open the free viewer, choose a `.dst` file, and read the result in your browser. The file is processed locally and is not uploaded by the tool.
